Congratulations, Mark Perriello, Carol Manera Texeira and Anna Baudouin — kudos on the promotion during the COVID-19 to Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce programs manager! — on hosting the Mayor’s Luncheon to a sold-out audience at the Royal Sonesta Kaua‘i Resort in Lihu‘e.
Arlene Yoshimori, Gloria West and Leilani Bright were thrilled to be called back to work at the hotel.
And kudos to Tess Shimabukuro and her Gather Federal Credit Union ‘ohana (Kamika Smith was wearing the Gather shirt instead of his Smith’s lu‘au shirt and running shoes!) on supporting the effort that was the first in-person chamber event in some time.
The Business After Hours at The Salty Wahine was just 50 people. Now, Laura and Dave Andersland are off “on vacation” with the loosening of travel rules, and the Gather FCU ‘ohana was up early Wednesday to help pack backpacks for the Back to School Bash that’s Saturday from 9:30 a.m. at Kukui Grove Center (yes, Dave Sosner and Melissa McFerrin-Warrack were at the luncheon, too!).
Kudos, too, to Kolten Gusman, Ryleigh Hernando, Taylor Mielke-Seuzu, Kaye Serapio, Hailey Silva and Nevaeh Arruda-Kapu on earning chamber scholarships made possible through the Y. Hata support of the golf tournament (how many tournaments do we having coming up starting with the Sandy G tournament benefiting the YWCA of Kaua‘i on Aug. 1?).
OK, time to go check out the monthly farmers’ market and craft fair at the Sheraton Kaua‘i Coconut Beach that starts this afternoon (Barbara Gusman and Jaye Gayagas-Youn were helping register guests. Laurie Yoshida got help from Michael Contrades and Lawai‘a Naihe in checking the vaccines). Happy hour at the Crooked Surf, too?
