Donald J. Travaso
Donald J. Travaso, “Sheriff of Hanama‘ulu”, passed away peacefully at home on May 1, 2021. He was born in Lihu‘e, on Nov. 29, 1938, and was retired from the County of Kaua‘i.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Charlotte Travasso and his faithful companion, pet dog Manti.
Donald is survived by daughters Darnell (Myles) Aquino, Sheri (Scott) Yagihara, son Donavan (Alynda) Travasso, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, his brother Joseph “Pancho” (Mildred) Travasso, sister Geraldine Duarte, numerous nieces and nephews.
On Saturday, July 17, 2021, there will be a short visitation with the family at Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia at 9:30 a.m. with a Catholic Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Following the Mass, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center in Lihu‘e from noon to 3 p.m. The family suggests casual attire. Due to COVID-19, mask and social distancing are required.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Sally A. King (Futty)
Sally A. King (Futty) of Kapa’a, passed peacefully on June 10, 2021, two days after her 75 birthday.
Sally is now free after a challenging life with Parkinson’s disease.
A donation in her memory may be sent to the Kaua‘i Humane Society.
Celebration of Life will be on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at 4 p.m. at Nawiliwili Park.

Theresa B. Kimura
Theresa B. Kimura passed away on June 13, 2021, at the age of 86, at Mahelona Hospital. She was born on May 14, 1935, in New York. She was a sales person.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence M. Kimura, parents Peter and Bridget Angone, brothers Benny Angone, Mario Angone, Louis Angone, Frank Angone, Joey Diresta, Frankie Angone, sisters Mary Angone, Lena Angone, Anna Angone and Frannie Angone.
Theresa is survived by her son Perry M. Kimura of Los Angeles, California, daughter Kellie K. McEnvoy of Kalaheo, grandchildren Michael, Sierra, Kekoa, Kainoa and Kai’ulani.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisted the family with arrangements.
Francisco Badua Balisacan
Francisco Badua Balisacan, of ‘Ele‘ele, passed away on June 18, 2021, at the age of 98. He was born on Oct. 10, 1922, in Santa Rosa, Sarrat, Ilocos Norte of the Philippines. He retired as a sugar cane juice processor with McBryde Sugar Company.
Francisco was preceded in death by his wife Nicasia Lahip Balisacan, brothers Mauricio Balisacan, Tomix Balisacan, sisters Florida Balisacan Ganotisi and Salome Balisacan.
Francisco is survived by his only son Villamor L. Balisacan, Sr. (Teresita Taroma), grandchildren Villamor T. Balisacan Jr. (Jennie), Julius T. Balisacan (Hazel), Lorelei T. Balisacan Ramos (Bruno), great-grandchildren Jacie Balisacan Ipac (Shaun), Gavin Miyazaki, Javin Balisacan (Jaecie), Gabrielle Balisacan, Brayden Balisacan Ramos, great-great-grandchildren J’sha Kawamura, J’zen Kawamura, Kingsley Balisacan, Teagan Perreira, sisters Felicidad Balisacan Calabucal, Fortunata Balisacan Dumayas, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be at Garden Island Mortuary on Saturday, July 17, 2021.
Viewing and visitation with the family will begin at 9 a.m. with service to follow.
The family suggest casual attire and welcomes flowers. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing and face masks are required.
