She even provided a waste package for the rinds.
Kaleb and Ryder Soriano, on the other hand, couldn’t pass up the fresh coconut being put out by Aloha Lani Farm (business was on the slow side as Sakda “Pat” Thaksin had time to do other vending between carving coconuts).
Janice Bond (she was waiting for Melissa McFerrin-Warrack to show up) was late because she spent the day distributing material for the two-day Veterans Day golf tournament that will play out on Nov. 6 and 7 at the Hokuala Golf Club and Princeville Makai Golf Club. There will be special prizes for golfers who do both days! She said people need to sign up early because, last year, it was pretty much sold out close to the tournament date.
And what happened to that shopper looking for fried chicken? Harry Shigekane of Daddy O’s showed up to get veggies for the restaurant right after the shopper went to check out the Times Supermarket deli, and Laurie Ho and Bev Pang nearly wiped out a vendor’s stock of fresh peanuts. Bev got a lot of other produce, too, including the Thai watermelon (Brent Mizutani found one that’s perfect for after dinner!).
And, Melissa McFerrin-Warrack said the Back to School Bash has been pushed back to Saturday, July 24.
The Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau does its scholarship presentation Monday, July 26.
The Deja Vu Surf Hawai‘i Back to School sale starts this weekend.
