Happy birthday, Mikaela Brown — a Boys & Girls Club, Lihu‘e alum — who got a free set of wheels courtesy of the efforts from Todd Burns of PS&D/NAPA, Kevin and Jon Belz of Bumper And Dent Company (Todd said they’re the only place on Kaua‘i that works with water-based car paint).

Mahalo, Brandon Ka‘auwai (he’s another Boys & Girls Club person) whose work with Ho‘ola Lahui Hawai‘i was key to meeting Kayla Herron of California – she’s the great-granddaughter of World Middleweight Champion Bobo Olson who reigned from 1953 to 1955 and was born and lived in Honolulu! Kayla’s dad saw the vaccine cap being distributed as a premium at the pop-up vaccine clinics and had to get a better look at that boxing glove. Thank you, too, Dr. Kapono Chong for all the hard work at the clinics.
A trip to the pop-up vaccine clinic at Keoki’s Paradise (they get really busy at lunch, but Mo‘olelo Murals’ Bree Blake made it to the Kress Street project despite that) revealed the Hawai‘i Realtors food drive runs through Aug. 31. Joycelyn Vasconcelles at Coldwell Bankers at the Po‘ipu Shopping Village had just set up the food drop-off invitation. Where else can people drop off food?
