Kudos to Jackie Nielsen and Gwen Silva on doing a great job with the Aloha Market at the National Tropical Botanical Garden South Shore Visitor Center (it’s the place across Lawa‘i Road from Spouting Horn Park!).

Elvrine Chow of Heavenly Haku (she even has a book on Heavenly Haku!) was set after getting her food from Risa Clemmons, and Jennifer Ortal (coconut donuts?) had some frozen ice towels to help beat the heat. No wonder Greg Askew of Ono Pops was so busy you couldn’t even see him in the tent. That means no sense even trying to visit Dave Andersland and The Salty Wahine tent (did you try that new, award-winning salt for Father’s Day grilling?) beause there was no space.
And, the entertainment (Made Jimenez of Mailelani’s has new, Karin Panui-inspired creations that are different from what’s being sold in the NTBG Gift Shop!) Had to check with the Aunty Lilikoi kids on who was supposed to appear in the meadow.
Mahalo, County Councilmember Mason Chock, for getting Da Pali back from Kilauea, where it’s been doing a bang-up gig at the Anaina Hou Community Park farmers’ market, just in time for Father’s Day, where The Shops at Kukui‘ula (whoa! Joyce Vidinha was out of retirement for a girls night out at The Friday Night Flavors!), where a climb benefits the Kaua‘i Visitor Industry Charity Walk.
OK, time to check out Bubbah’s Toy Box &Collectibles on what kind of premiums are available for their Randal Gusman fundraiser. Prizes are on display from Monday, and there’s an entire week to check it out before the June 26 Pop Swap at Kukui Grove Center in Lihue.
