KOLOA — Multiple sections of Koloa and Maluhia roads are scheduled for lane closures from now to Friday, June 18.
Short lane closures for inspection and punch-list completion are happening from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Expect brief occasional delays at the Koloa Road intersection with Ala Kalanikaumaka intersection for the continued construction of the roundabout.
As a reminder, ‘Oma‘o Road is a narrow residential road that is not intended to be used as a detour route, and not designed for high volumes of traffic or truck traffic. The speed limit is 25 mph for the entire length of the road.
Through trucks are prohibited on ‘Oma‘o Road for the duration of this project. Eastbound motorists from the Westside, Kalaheo or Lawa‘i are recommended to take Kaumuali‘i Highway to Maluhia Road to access Koloa and Po‘ipu.
Construction of the Koloa Road roundabout is projected to be complete by July 9. The current projected project final completion date is Aug. 27. Dates and times are subject to change depending on weather and other factors. For questions or concerns, contact Tristan Gonzales at 808-462-8057 or Ryan Moura at 808-298-2431.
