LIHU‘E — The county Department of Water’s interim Manager and Chief Engineer Mark R. Knoff appointed Judith A. Hayducsko as the DOW deputy manager and engineer, effective June 1.
“I am confident that Judy will serve the department and the Kaua‘i community well due to her vast knowledge of the public utility,” said Knoff.
Hayducsko is originally from Pennsylvania, and had served as chief of operations with the Department of Water Supply, County of Hawai‘i, managing an operational team of 100 members.
Like the Kaua‘i DOW, but at a larger scale, her operational team was responsible for maintaining 23 public water systems with 1,000 miles of main, over 200 reservoirs, 67 sources, including seven spring sources, and surface-water-treatment plants.
“I am looking forward to the opportunity of serving the residents and visitors who rely on safe potable water and working closely with water’s partner agencies,” Hayducsko said.
Hayducsko said she is eager to lead the DOW in future endeavors and exploring Kaua‘i as a resident after years of vacation visits.
