What? Melissa McFerrin-Warrack (she was thrilled to see Sue Kanoho enjoying the U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific musical ensemble Small Kine!) was enjoying a bowl of pancit from the Pau Hana Market Monday at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e to wrap up a long weekend, where the Keiki Korner play area opened to limited (only 12 keiki at a time, please) use, and Rose Anne Jones and Abigail Boroughs were getting ready for the opening of the Kaua‘i Society of Artists 2021 Washed Up Marine Debris Art Show (opening reception is Friday from 5 to 8 pm).

Janice Bond (she’s everywhere!) was in and out of the mall, peddling Mama Lucy’s plate lunch tickets Saturday and getting Memorial Day specials Monday at the market. She said reminded people to place their doughnut orders (thank you, Capt. Joseph Qentin of the Civil Air Patrol, for taking care of all those Scouts of America who decorated the Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery!) with Daylight Donuts for The Salvation Army’s National Donut Day coming up Friday! Last year, there was some confusion on whether the event took place or not, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. No confusion, this year — Janice (still waiting on David Sayre’s official confirmation) said it’s on!
OK, now where are we going to have lemon chicken (Laurie Ho and Amy Chun both discovered Ho’s Chinese Kitchen in KGC had its last day Monday!)?
