HANALEI — A 55-year-old Princeville man was traveling southbound up Kuhio Highway between Hanalei and Princeville Saturday afternoon when he lost control of his 2001 Honda motorcycle and crashed.
HANALEI — A 55-year-old Princeville man was traveling southbound up Kuhio Highway between Hanalei and Princeville Saturday afternoon when he lost control of his 2001 Honda motorcycle and crashed.
The highway was closed for approximately three and a half hours while the Kauaʿi Police Department Traffic Safety Unit conducted an investigation.
According to a preliminary report, the motorcycle struck the concrete barrier on the southbound side of the roadway. The motorcyclist sustained multiple serious injuries and was transported to Wilcox Medical Center, where he was admitted in serious condition. As of Sunday morning, the man remained hospitalized in stable condition.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
