Residents, businesses and groups can bring unwanted or unneeded items for reuse, including clothing, small furniture, children’s toys, books and shoes. Clothing and textiles do not need to be in good condition. Torn or stained clothing is OK.
EWaste, chemicals, appliances and broken items will not be accepted.
The county advises checking with local thrift stores to see if they are able to accept the donations prior to bringing the items to the Kaua‘i Resource Center, as the center has a limited ability to store items before the ARC team arrives.
Roadside signs will direct donors to the drop-off point. Customers are requested to maintain social distancing, wear face masks and follow all ARC and county staff directions. Donations are accepted in a drive-thru format, with drivers not needing to exit vehicles.
The ARC also offers pickup services to thrift stores and businesses. Schedule an appointment by calling 241-4336.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, businesses not on the current listing may be added for service in June.
Individuals who would like home pickup service can contact the Kaua‘i Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 335-6105, or RP’s Random Closet, a for-profit agency, at 346-0020.
