LIHU‘E — And the winners of the Kaua‘i High School 2021 Homecoming Royal Court are…to be announced.
The winners of the crowns of king, queen and the court entourage will be revealed to viewers of the virtual homecoming ceremony scheduled to air May 10.
Coming on the heels of the virtual May Day — to virtually presented on May 7, the Kaua‘i High School technical team chaired by students Hema Naka‘ahiki-Young and Ayzia Aceret-Coloma went with a Hollywood theme to present the homecoming court that traditionally is done at an in-person student assembly.
The COVID-19 pandemic changed the pomp and festivities to a distance platform where students in the Class of 2021 will be crowned based on the number of votes they received from the student-body voting.
Contenders for the senior court include Sharmayne Joy Alcaraz, Napua Canales, Alana Cayabyab, Jordyn Chong Tim and Davris Mahuka. Escorts include Quilan Valdez, Chayce Rego, Jaden Domingsel and Marique Manera.
Class representatives on the Homecoming Court include Kayla Fernandez, Emma Burgess, Ceanna Batin-Kaui, Tynise Lynne Dailey, Drayden Gerardo, Jacob Reese, Caisen Medina and Kairus Pedro.
The faculty advisor is Clifford Feliciano.
Final airing times and the connecting link will be released shortly.
