Now, what’s next? Mother’s Day? Memorial Day? Graduation?
Kudos to Taylor Shigemoto, Karen Shigemoto, Mel Chiba, Morgan Moises Lopez and all those Hawai‘iUSA Federal Credit Union cover girls on awarding Kaua‘i High School and Seth Womble grants for doing the mural fronting the future home of the credit union at KGC.
Seth said he’d like to get to know the Mo‘olelo Murals artists (they’re still working on pieces on Kress Street) for some future pieces on the island.
More kudos to Eagle Scout Christian Lardizabal on creating the mural at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center as his Eagle project. The mural was a perfect backdrop for U.S. Rep. Kai Kahele (mahalo for coming to visit us!) when he participated in a special flag ceremony (Jim Jung was watching that intently) in tribute of the late John Iwamoto. Mahalo, Gen. Mary Jane Hertog (Gen. Myron Dobashi was there, too) and Johnette Chun for coordinating that touching ceremony that was able to be performed in compliance with the COVID-19 health and safety guidelines.
Mahalo and kudos to Carla Keller (she said she’s originally from Hanapepe) and the Lae Nani Owners Volunteer group for working with the Lae Nani grounds crew in cleaning the beach near the he‘iau located at the Wailua property that sits in the shadow of Sleeping Giant.
Speaking of which, have you tried that brew from the Kaua‘i Beer Company? You don’t need to wait until next year’s National Beer Day. Mahalo, Larry Feinstein, for the help with that piece, and kudos to Emma Sloan, who did a great job with the labels for the line of bottled beer. OK, so when is National Breakfast Day?
