Rob Silva of Silva’s Ice Cream Truck (yes, they have Ono Pops, too!) said they found the old bubble gum that “smokes,” and carry that along with ice cream, beverages and assorted snack items.

Kudos to Rob and Rick Pitts, owner of Kaua‘i Sweet (yes, he has Ono Pops, too!), who sell cotton candy and shave ice and ice cream, too, for partnering to bring the Easter Bunny to the back parking lot at Ace Housemart (the Smiley’s Restaurant parking lot on Rice Street in Lihu‘e). Both food trucks make the rounds in the different neighborhoods, so you just need to keep the ears peeled for that digitized, distinctive, ice-cream-truck music.
Kudos to Greg Askew and Candace Boxer of Ono Pops for getting that sponsored delivery to the Wilcox Health vaccine crew! Greg said someone sponsored the treats for the vaccine crew at the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital. Anyone game for the Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital?
Kudos to Jackie Nielsen of the National Tropical Botanical Garden South Shore Visitor Center for hosting the controlled Easter egg hunt Sunday. Was good to see coach David “DJ” Adams, but where was the basketball? Kudos to the teachers, staff and board people from the Alaka‘i O Kaua‘i Charter School for helping with the egg hunt.
More kudos to Shale Shore and the Kaua‘i Sailing Association (you have to see that “Frozen” mascot Olaf made from marine debris on the side of their building) on its annual Easter egg hunt on the water at the Nawiliwili Small Boat Harbor Sunday.
