KAILUA-KONA — A coronavirus outbreak at the University of the Nations Kona in Hawaii has been reported by university officials and has forced the campus to close to the public.
A university spokesperson, Johnny Gillespie, told West Hawaii Today last Friday that there have been 20 recent positive coronavirus tests on campus.
The university identified the results through a testing program for students and staff who are preparing to travel out of the country. Students and employees affiliated with the university are required to test negative for the coronavirus before leaving.
Gillespie said 64 people identified by contact tracing have been placed in precautionary quarantine, adding that all 20 of the positive cases were asymptomatic.
The university has returned to online instruction and reinstated remote staff meetings, West Hawaii Today reported.
In October, about 52 people affiliated with the school also tested positive for the coronavirus, which prompted campus-wide testing of more than 950 staffers and students.
Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, breathing trouble, sore throat, muscle pain and loss of taste or smell. Most people develop only mild symptoms.
But some people, usually those with other medical complications, develop more severe symptoms, including pneumonia. Sometimes people with a coronavirus infection display no symptoms.
So which test were they administering? Suspicious since they were all asymptomatic. Just give them all a round of Ivermectin and send them back to the dorm. Dose them up with vitamin D, zinc and vitamin C as well. The chance of any of them having any real difficulties is virtually non-existent.
If there’s an outbreak on other campuses around Hawai’i, then they’ll close that one too. I’m surprise why they went through with the basketball tournament. Some caves already showed up because of the events. Baylor won over Gonzaga. Title game. Division I NCAA
