Kudos to everyone, even Mother Nature, for making the effort at following the health and safety guidelines in place to help prevent the spread of that COVID-19 bug that’s been crimping everyone’s style for more than a year!

We’re still not out of this, so as Art Umezu says in his music video in production, “we still need to be vigilant and safe!”
The Easter Bunny (I believe he’s back for hana hou this weekend) was joined by not only Mother Goose, but the Garden Gnome at Bunny Hollow. Yes, kiddles, you needed to enjoy the air conditioning to see him.
And he didn’t run out of jelly beans at the Spring Festival Fun (kudos to Melissa McFerrin-Warrack, Jenny Ortal and her ‘ohana, and Denise Roberts and her KQNG crew — they even had Lexi Jones hopping around — on a great event where even Shirley Simbre-Medeiros came out of the Westside woodwork for lunch with Ella Kimokeo.
Kudos to coaches Kevin Devitt and Kevin Gusman (he broke away to congratulate Dawn Murata on signing to become an Upper Iowa University Peacock bowler!) on getting five weeks (has it been that long?) of youth soccer going at the north Vidinha Stadium fields in Lihu‘e.
No spectators allowed on the fields that are social distanced to just four instead of the pre-COVID seven pitches, and face masks everywhere! The youth (yes, even Island School coach Sean Magoun comes to watch, coach Kevin Devitt said!) play through May.
Finally, mahalo to all (Janice Bond was running all over town, but not quite fast enough!) those who listen to Ron Wood of FM97 (how did the Aloha Kia Lihu‘e A’s do?) and Ron Wiley of KQNG for putting the kabosh on The Happy Camper’s plans of trying to stay in the shadow of the stilted ladies (cosplay girls Amber Mayne and Rikku Burns got to meet them, too!) and the Easter Bunny.
