Ferdinand said no need meat because got tofu for protein. He’s also checking out some new grass-fed beef for kim chee burgers.
Alyssa Miyamoto and Carter Koetje had vegan drinks based on coconut milk that they unveiled during last week’s Puhi Park Produce. All that mud must’ve had them hiding. They’re doing coconut, almond and oatmeal flavors.
Kudos to Daniel Momohara, Ann Hashisaka and all those Kukuiolono Association volunteers (the Tateishi family had four generations helping) for getting out those to-go meals during the month when the association used to have their New Year meal!
Kudos, too to the Friends of King Kaumuali‘i, Aletha Kaohi, Maureen Fodale and all those people who worked for nearly 10 years to get the King Kaumuali‘i statue installed at Pa‘ula‘ula (Russian Fort Elizabeth State Historical Park in Waimea). Maureen said there is a virtual dedication scheduled for March 31 at 5 p.m., but families are welcome to view the statue now that it’s unveiled. Groups of 25 people or more need to get permits from the state because of COVID-19 rules.
Congratulations to Bubbah’s Toy Box on moving to their new, larger (nearly double?) space next to the Kaua‘i Society of Artists (last week to view the KSA Spring Show) gallery in Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e! They now have operating games in the back, and having a pop swap was a great way to celebrate.
OK, now let’s see what new at the Pau Hana Market (starts at 3 p.m. at KGC).
