HONOLULU — AES Hawai‘i, which has energy projects on all of the major Hawaiian Islands via AES Clean Energy, including partnering with Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative, recently announced a $30,000 donation to support the American Red Cross’s disaster-relief efforts across the state.
“As you know, the American Red Cross of Hawai‘i has been working tirelessly to support families across the state in the wake of the recent flooding and landslides,” said a spokesperson for AES Hawai‘i. “AES saw the impacts on O‘ahu’s North Shore, Maui and the Kaua‘i communities, and wanted to do its part to help those affected to recover and rebuild.”
In addition to the $30,000 award to the American Red Cross, AES delivered four pallets of vitally-needed supplies to O‘ahu’s North Shore.
The award will also thee kickoff of a local, matching-gift campaign to benefit ARC.
Starting today and continuing through Wednesday, March 24, which is observed as Red Cross National Giving Day, all gifts made online through the redcross.org/donate website will be matched by AES dollar for dollar to a maximum of $30,000.
