The green theme (yes, Keoki’s Paradise and Duke’s too used that green box of Girl Scout cookies in the special hula pie!) went so well, Larry Feinstein said the Kaua‘i Beer Company — no, the place between work and home — is extending green until Saturday. Was the leprechaun around, Bev Pang and Barbara “BB” Bloemke?

Kudos to state Senate President Ron Kouchi for pulling all those people (yes, even Jackie Kanna and Paige Moura of the Hawai‘i Health Systems Corporation Kaua‘i Branch) together (Kelvin Moniz even had four of his Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank board members, including president Donna King) for the Spring Break Food Giveaway at Waimea Canyon Middle School (Congratulations, Principal Melissa Speetjens and ‘ohana, on the dedication of the new covered playcourt). Joy Kagawa missed out because she didn’t get the memo.
Mahalo, Darin Tann of Keoki’s Paradise, for paying it forward for Sabrina Bodon’s birthday (yes, it was St. Patrick’s Day, too), but Krystal Struhar and Gabby Salud didn’t get the memo, either, and Manette DeCosta missed out because it was her day off.
More mahalo to former mayor and current County Councilmember Bernard Carvalho Jr. for paying it forward — that 7-11 sandwich tasted extra good! — before going to check on all that beach erosion happening around with Ke Ala Hele Makalae in Wailua (beach cleanup Saturday at Lydgate Park Morgan’s Ponds — meet at 8:30 a.m. near the lifeguard tower — did you see that driftwood shark?).
