Kimberly will be rendering some fun fiddle tunes (requests welcome) and will be joined by some of her students’ video presentations as well. Nice time to enjoy some corned beef and cabbage with live-streamed music.
Kudos to Mary Zhao of Kaua‘i ParTea for unveiling her trio of goodies for St. Patrick’s Day during the Kukui Grove Center St. Patrick’s Day keiki fun day, where Juno Apalla, one of the cast for the Kaua‘i Community Players’ “Edges a Song Cycle,” was recognized despite her incognito celebrity glasses. Edges opens Thursday at the Puhi Theatrical Warehouse and runs for 12 performances through April 9.
The farmers at the Pau Hana Market were out in full force with little damage from all that crazy weather, last week. Sakda Farm had the full tray of mountain apples, and Mayette Loseto said there weren’t too much flowers because the river is still too high. Frank Cruz surprised Laurie Ho when he showed up with two musicians instead of one. There goes that extra lechon roast pork (Elvrine Chow — she scored some fresh watercress from Kipu again — said when you compare that with bacon, no, there’s no comparison) from the Kaua‘i Family Cafe, where that plantain banana on a skewer looked pretty inviting, too.
‘Nuff said — Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Kaua‘i! and Happy Birthday, Sabrina Bodon!
