Sheri Leone of Boston was so happy she had enough to acquire the Georgia “Gigi” Hoopes piece “Meeting of the Minds” that was on display Friday night. Georgia just happened to be gallery-sitting, and added to Sheri’s excitement over the people in bubbles that Georgia said came to her in a dream.

She said all the rain made for good gallery-viewing for the Kaua‘i Society of Artists’ Spring Show and the KSA gallery was pretty lively at Kukui Grove Center, where Jean Souza (oops, er, Aaron Swink of the state Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Aquatic Resources) distributed grab-and-go learning kits on reefs as part of the Kukui Grove Spring Break Family Fun Day.
Morgan Lopez said the Hawai‘iUSA Federal Credit Union ‘ohana would be working on the mural for their new location (they’re only in an outreach office at KGC now) and has Spring Reading Challenge forms.
The fun continues today when Kukui Grove switches gears and hosts more family fun for its St. Patrick’s Day celebration starting at 11 a.m.
Kudos to the credit unions — Gather Federal Credit Union partnered with the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank to host a food distribution for Kaua‘i Marriott Resort &Beach Club employees, and the Kaua‘i Government Employees Federal Credit Union teamed with KIFB and the Kaua‘i Fire Department Ocean Safety Bureau to deliver food for people impacted by the landslide in Hanalei.
