KOLOA — The county Department of Public Works and Goodfellow Bros. LLC announced that multiple sections of Koloa Road and Maluhia Road are scheduled for closures from Monday to Friday, March 1 to 5.
On Wednesday, March 10, a portion of ‘Oma‘o Road near Koloa Road will be closed to traffic on from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. for intersection paving. All ‘Oma‘o Road traffic will need to exit and enter the area at Kaumuali‘i Highway.
Multiple sections of Koloa Road will be under a single-lane closure for shoulder construction and pavement work from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastbound motorists from the Westside, Kalaheo and Lawa‘i are recommended to take Kaumuali‘i Highway to Maluhia Road to access Koloa and Po‘ipu.
In addition, striping work is scheduled on Maluhia Road under a single-lane closure from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
As a reminder, ‘Oma‘o Road is a narrow, residential road that is not intended to be used as a detour route, and not designed for high volumes of traffic or truck traffic. The speed limit is 25 mph the entire length. Through trucks are prohibited on ‘Oma‘o Road for the duration of this project.
