LIHU‘E — Joan Bagnc was excited about the sale of the Waterford crystal elephant Saturday during the opening day of the four-day, multi-family garage sale that will benefit the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank.
“The elephant and other Waterford pieces are from Joan’s daughter, Dr. Lisa Splittstoesser’s family,” said Janice Bond, the hostess of the multi-family sale that runs through today.
“She got excited when she looked at the elephant in its original container. The person who got the elephant is planning on giving it to her husband, and Joan was excited about that.”
Doors to the garage sale at 3920 Hunakai St. in the Ulu Ko subdivision runs today from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Some of the available items include more Waterford crystals, antiques, Swarovski Silver crystals, assorted plants, books, housewares, clothes, shoes, hats, and in answer to Marilyn Matsumoto’s question, jewelry.
“My son John made special cases for some of the knives he has available for sale,” Bond said. “No, the cases are not for sale, just the knives.”
Other items include dog items, vases, purses and bags, assorted crafts, a set of Taylor Made golf clubs, tools, toys and an Epson 3640 Series printer.
