Congratulations to Shereen Ho‘opi‘i of the Lili‘uokalani Trust for coordinating the delivery of 400 Farmers-to-Families food boxes.
Kudos to Tina Albao of the Boys &Girls Club, Kaua‘i, Donna Loo of the county’s Agency on Elderly Affairs, and Teddy Arroyo and the different associations of the Kaua‘i Pop Warner Football League for lending their hands in getting the boxes moved to all parts of the island in a one-day, massive effort.
Edie Ignacio-Neumiller of the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i was getting worried since the food distribution came dangerously close to her scheduled transfer of the club’s Spirit Award from Regina Carvalho to Nikki Cristobal (and Tutu Maile, who was being puppy-sat by Dr. Addison Bulosan).
But everything worked out, because Jim Benkert (he just got a new shipment of ebikes) trooped his Bikes on Rice people by for some technical adjustments before rolling off to look for hills (Regina said they have that Nawiliwili-to-Lihu‘e hill to climb) to tackle. Padric Gallagher had his trusty leg-powered bike.
OK, time to go chase the Year of the Ox (mind the social-distancing and big-crowds rules when offering the lai see) that combines with cupid for Valentine’s Day (kudos to Dr. Joseph Chu and Kaua‘i Endontics on the free dental day).
And, don’t forget the Kilohana Pop-Up Giveaway Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Puhi.
