KFD extinguishes Hanalei fire Monday
HANALEI — Firefighters extinguished a structure fire that broke out in Hanalei early Monday morning.
No injuries were reported. The structure was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
Kaua‘i Fire Department firefighters from the Princeville and Kaiakea fire stations, a battalion chief and personnel from the Fire Prevention Bureau responded to the incident.
According to preliminary reports, firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire in Hanalei at approximately 3 a.m. They arrived on scene at approximately 3:10 a.m.
Once on scene, fire personnel discovered the structure fully engulfed with smoke and flames.
The fire was quickly knocked down.
After assessing the incident, crews cleared the scene at approximately 4:40 a.m.
Fire inspectors estimate the damage to the structure and its contents to be roughly $11,000.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
It takes months to years for a building permit to work its way through all the Kaua’i Gov crap but this thing existed. Kaua’i is a mess.
