Happy birthday, Pokemon. Melissa McFerrin-Warrack used the Pokemon 25th anniversary to coordinate with Bubbah’s Toy Box (they had a wide variety of items) in hosting a mall-wide pop-up of vendors (great way to support local small business) dealing with collectibles (anyone had Hank Aaron cards?), and other Pokemon-inspired goodies, Saturday at Kukui Grove Center.

Coach Peter Rayno of the Hanamaulu Hillsiders had a bye on the Kaua‘i Senior Softball calendar Saturday so could go all-in at the pop-up, where Ernie Domingo (who took his water bottle?) came to visit after watching the Rookies contest the ‘Ohana Motors Rebels at Puhi Park.
Cyndi Ayonon said Beat (when did they add “and LiL?”) Athletica is going to be at the Vehi Surf (it’s behind the Lihu‘e Gather FCU on Elua Street) pop-up Saturday, Feb. 6, with 22 Degrees Bakes, Dinas Designs, Lei Love Boutique, Niakainoa Designs, Allorabazaar, Kreative Kutz Hawai‘i, Kaua‘i Body Works and Sansea Jewelry from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This sounds very Valentine’s Day.
Over at Puhi Park Produce (Dean Nonaka of the Rookies could walk over following his game against the ‘Ohana Motors Rebels), Stel Pimental came over to get veggies and stock up on the baked goods, and Da Kruzers shopping was a sure sign the alternate site did not happen (it must’ve been raining all over the island).
OK, time to go check on the Pau Hana Market and see what’s new at the weekly farmers’ market at Kukui Grove Center.
