Larry (he said he’s been on a one-year vacation because of the COVID-19 pandemic) said he was going to get the first dose of the vaccine on their anniversary (Gloria is going to get hers Wednesday).
Kelvin Moniz said the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank crew also got their date for the vaccine, and took advantage of not having any lines at the point of distribution.
Mahalo to Fred Cowell and the Kaua‘i Coffee Company ‘ohana, and Errol McGowan and the Kaua‘i Paramedics Association, for their help in keeping Kaua‘i fed.
Over at Vidinha Stadium, kudos to Wes Perreira and the Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i Branch ‘ohana on its first food distribution of the new year — Na Ho‘omaka Hou — where the county’s Department of Parks and Recreation (Melanie Okamoto said the senior center members need to check with their site leaders for the drive-thru giveaway that will take the place of the traditional Valentine’s dance) and a group from Hawaiian Airlines showed up to volunteer.
Tina Brun was going crazy because she had the St. Raphael Church’s monthly giveaway that same afternoon, and Tiffany Sagucio (her mom picked up food at the Sheraton Kaua‘i Resort employees’ food distribution) was doing her volunteering, along with Jaevyn Navarro, who had a non in-person education day.
