Kudos to Chip Bahouth and the Sheraton Kaua‘i Resort ‘ohana on providing food packages for its employees in partnership with the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank.
The success on the effort that provides food for more than 100 families is strongly dependent on volunteer help (kudos, Zonta Club of Kaua‘i — Edie Ignacio Neumiller took off work for half a day to help — and the East Kaua‘i Lions Club (President Janice Bond, as a Hawai‘i elector — she had to quarantine after casting her electoral vote — alternate, received an invitation for a commemorative edition to inauguration day).
Edie and Cyndi Ayonon (Beat Athletica is having a pop-up at the Timbers Resort when?) both wore pearls during the food distribution in honor of Kamala Harris being inaugurated as the nation’s first female vice president, not to mention being the first of Asian and Black heritage.
Liz Olson joined Sharon Mitchell, who could not contain her elation of inauguration day and donned her specially-designed shirt and waved her signs along Rice Street to share her feelings of celebrating that carried over to the number of midday horn honks.
Congratulations to Bradley Suiza and Deyana Mielke on the installation of their daughter, Taylor Mielke Suiza, as the 2021 Miss Kaua‘i Veteran on the same date Joe Biden became the 46th president of the United States (quite a global honor). As Miss Kaua‘i Veteran, one of her first duties is to join Kaua‘i Veterans Council Commander Mary Kay Hertog at the Memorial Day (Mary Kay is working to see if we can NOT miss the traditional ceremonies for the second straight year) golf tournament.
