LIHU‘E — The state Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported two new cases of COVID-19 on Kaua‘i on Sunday.
Sunday’s cases are adults, one resident and one visitor, whose sources of infection are related to mainland travel. All active cases are in isolation, and one case remains hospitalized on O‘ahu. Close contacts are being identified, directed to quarantine and offered testing.
Sunday’s cases bring the number of on-island active cases to 19, with 204 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count includes 176 confirmed locally, one probable, and 27 positive cases diagnosed elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on island.
