Kudos to Art Umezu (and Daphne Sanchez on vocals) for creating a song especially for the upcoming inauguration of the nation’s President-elect Joe Biden.

“One America” is just one number on the “We are One World” CD that was released in December and dedicated to the front-line medical-care workers and first responders.
Who would’ve known that “One America” would become appropriate for the traditional change-of-power ceremony?
The CD that features Chucky Boy Chock opening the sound track with a pule is available starting this month at the Wilcox Hospital Gift Shop, the Kaua‘i Museum gift shop, Island Arts Gallery and JJ ‘Ohana in Hanapepe, Jane Boutique in Kukui Grove Center, Hilo Hattie, Java Kai, the Kaua‘i Coffee Visitor Center, and online.
Kudos to Art for utilizing all Kauains to produce this CD that features the talents of Kaua‘i High School students Kate Mie Nakamura, Edilyn Marques (she did the cover art) and Ryland Balbin, audio engineers Berto Genovia and Percy Sanchez of Blaze Entertainment, Kalani Dabin and more, working in a make-shift studio at the Sheraton Kaua‘i at Coconut Beach in Waipouli.
More musical genius comes on the heels of a holiday season when Hank Curtis takes the floor (yes, he’s in his face mask) at the Kukui Grove Center food court in Lihu‘e to start the Friday-night entertainment that launches at 6 p.m. (the shopping center closes earlier because of the pandemic).
