Alika S. Aguiar
Alika S. Aguiar passed away on Dec. 27, 2020, at the age of 49, in Waimea. He was born on May 19, 1971, in Honolulu, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather Edwin M. Aguiar, uncle Robert Aguiar, and maternal grandparents Reynolds and Lehua Horswill.
He is survived by parents Anthony and Renee Aguiar, brothers Ikaika E. Aguiar of Waimea, Kaimi Ike A. (Lan) Aguiar of O‘ahu, Keali‘i A. (Kisha) Aguiar of Kekaha and Iolana (Sara) Aguiar of Utah, sisters Kimberly K. (Anna) Aguiar of Florida and Star K. Aguiar of Kekaha, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at Kekaha Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4587 Amakihi St. in Kekaha, opn Saturday, Jan. 16, with viewing from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m., and services from 11:30 a.m. to noon. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
COVID-19 rules will be observed, with masks and social distancing mandatory.
The family suggests casual attire and flowers are welcomed.
A limited amount of people, 10 at a time will be allowed at the grave site for 10 minutes.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Doris Yukie Kashiwai
Doris Yukie Kashiwai, of Hanapepe, passed away at the age of 87, on Jan. 3, 2021. She was born in Koloa on Feb. 11, 1933, and was retired as a baker for the Kaua‘i Kookie Kompany.
She was preceded in death by husband Stanley “Sabit” Kashiwai.
She is survived by son Duane Kashiwai of Honolulu, daughters Lee Ann Kashiwai of Honolulu, Lynn Kashiwai (Fred DeCann) of Hanapepe, and granddaughter Leia Stuber of Honolulu.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
