LIHU‘E — The state Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported no new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday.
Also on Sunday, the county clarified a press release it issued Saturday. Four of the five cases announced Saturday have been recategorized as cases diagnosed out of state.
Those cases represent people who were tested on the mainland and received their positive test results after arrival here, while in quarantine.
The current number of on-island active cases remains at 13, with 176 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count now includes 150 confirmed locally, one probable, and 25 positive cases diagnosed elsewhere.

That is great news. They say the tourism economy will pick up by summer. But there will still be other activities. Like sports, beaches, hiking, etc. Look forward to those events. Some sports, not all will be played. As you may already know the death toll for Hawai’i is 289. Keeping an eye on that figure also is the case count in the 21,000 mark. So watch out for that number too.
