LIHU‘E — The Department of Public Works announced that GP Maintenance Solutions will be conducting roadwork in Lihu‘e on weekdays from Monday, Jan. 4 to Wednesday, Jan. 27, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weather-permitting.
Work is scheduled on Uluhui, Uahiapele, Alohi and Palai streets and Uiki and Lalei places. The scope of work includes grass-cutting and weed control, and seal-coating the roadways.
There will be no road closures from Monday through Friday, Jan. 4 to 8, during the grass-cutting and weed control. No parking will be allowed on the road or road shoulders.
From Monday, Jan. 11 to Wednesdy, Jan. 27, there will be road closures during the seal-coating. No parking will be allowed on the road or road shoulders.
No vehicle access will be allowed on the roadways or grassy shoulders. No walking is allowed on the wet seal-coat material. No vehicle may enter or exit the impacted areas until the seal coat is dry and the road reopened. The work zone will be coned off to prevent anyone from driving or stepping on wet materials.
Any vehicle left in the work zone after 7:30 a.m. will be towed away at the driver’s/owner’s expense. Contact the Kaua‘i Police Department dispatch at 241-1711 for towed vehicles. For questions regarding this project, contact John Kerston of GP Maintenance Solutions at 864-0323.
