Happy New Year every body.
On Oct. 15, 2008, A counsel of leaders of Kaua‘i formed an organization called Mea Ho‘omana‘o in the promotion of the Aloha Spirit on Kaua‘i. I was asked to join in. After much discussions of phrases, I came up with the best, “Aloha Begins With Me.” It was selected as the Slogan of Kaua‘i. So I had to compose a song with that title and recorded it on my CD. I am glad that everyone is using our slogan. Mahalo!
In addition, I want everyone to know that the first person to receive the “Aloha Begins With Me” award was the wonderful Mr. Dennis Fujimoto.
Aloha Begins With Me
Ua Mau ke Ea o ka ‘Aina i ka Pono
Aloha begins with me, Aloha begins with me,
Aloha begins with me, Aloha begins with me.
When I walk down to the street, I will smile to all I meet and say ALOHA,
When I drive on down to town and the traffic is slowing down, I smile and say ALOHA,
On this island of many races we are blessed with all God’s graces
Ua Mau ke Ea o ka ‘Aina i ka Pono
(Go back to Aloha Begins with me)
