Merry Christmas, Kaua‘i!
Merry Christmas, Kaua‘i!
Who would have thought a food distribution — the one presented by the Kaua‘i Lifeguard Association and the Kaua‘i team of lifeguards partnering with the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank, Safeway at Hokulei Village, and Rancher’s Daughter’s Reserve — would be as great as Santa in a parade and keiki? Mahalo, Chantal Zarbaugh, Kelvin Moniz and all those volunteers from the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i, and the East Kaua‘i Lions Club, Kalani Vierra, Lesah Merritt, and Charlene Andrade Balmores for leading all those hands (Rowena Cobb said the word is “partner!”) to make sure there is food on the table when Santa (he had a cart full of goodies during The Shops at Kukui‘ula Super Saturday event!) comes to visit.
Mahalo, Pastor Nafetalai Teaupa (that pre-prayer ritual was a good wake-me-up) and the West Kaua‘i United Methodist Church who partnered with Pat Pablo and the Olokele Sugar Babes to bring three vehicle loads of Christmas presents for people at the Lucy Wright Park. Pat kept reminding the people to wait until Christmas, but no one could wait for the surprises…anyone got AA and C batteries?
Welcome back, Jeff and Cindy Haigh who creates those seasonal sand sculptures at Kalapaki Beach (the Kaua‘i Marriott security said Santa arriving is a strong negative because of the COVID-19). Loke Sasil had a ton of her fans enjoying the evening at Duke’s (they could see the pile from there) while checking on Jeff’s progress…Cindy couldn’t figure out what kind of creature wrapped her leg while she was enjoying the water on her body board…Mele Kalikimaka!
