LIHU‘E — A new look for a New Year, said Melissa McFerrin-Warrack, the specialty leasing manager at the Kukui Grove Center, Saturday.
“This is a mommy thing,” McFerrin-Warrack said. “We have the Beauty Board Room that offers information on beauty and glamour. You can go across the way to U Do who works with you on weight control and exercise leading to a healthier you. It’s a new look for the new year.”
Janet Duldulao, Sarah Rodriguez and Lani Medeiros make up the trio who lead the Board Room that opened its doors for the first time this past weekend.
“This is perfect,” McFerrin-Warrack said. “They could use the things set up by the former tenant and that helped them get up and going, quickly.”
The trio are independent Mary Kay consultants who utilize the space in the manner of house parties, offering tips and product information on skincare and trends in beauty and glamour during any of the three available sessions. Those sessions include meetings on facials, glamour, and beauty.
“It’s like a house party without the hassles,” Duldulao said. “Everything is socially distanced, there is a lot of room, and you don’t need to worry about whose house the party is going to be at. You just come here for the meeting, or to set up a meeting with your own group of friends.”
Currently, the Board Room is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“We started during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Duldulao said. “There was a lot of unemployment, and that’s how we started, looking for other ways to earn money and for things to do. We were also able to enjoy the fellowship of doing this. People can follow us on Instagram.”
“But the hours are flexible,” Duldulao said. “We’ll work around people’s schedules to set up the Beauty Board Meetings.”
The Board Room is only in its location until the end of January 2021, Duldulao said.
