William ‘Bobby’ C. Rita
William “Bobby” C. Rita passed away on Dec. 10, 2020, at the age of 85, in Kalaheo. He was born on Aug. 27, 1935, in Kapa‘a. He was a veteran with the U.S. Army and also a heavy-equipment operator for McBryde Sugar Company.
He was preceded in death by parents William and Flora Rita, son Eric Rita, and sisters Alice and Elsie.
He is survived by wife Anna F. Rita, sons David (Leslie) Rita of Kalaheo, Darin Rita of Kalaheo, Gordon (Vickie) Rita of Kalaheo and Brian (Watana) Rita of Kalaheo, nine grandchildren, and great-grandchildren Shalia and Mahina Vierra, Teja Rita, and Araiya, Mahriana and Massen Gayagas.
A walk-thru service at Garden Island Mortuary will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 29, from 9 to 10 a.m. A celebration of life will follow. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and masks are required. The family suggests casual attire and welcomes flowers.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Magdalena Padilla
Magdalena Padilla passed away on Dec. 11, 2020, at the age of 87, in Kekaha. She was born on April 2, 1933, in Hanama‘ulu. She was a retired waitress for Sheraton Kaua‘i Resort.
She was preceded in death by husband Marcelino Padilla, brother Juan Planas and sister Dolores Planas Domenden.
She is survived by sons Genaro Padilla of Lawa‘i and James Padilla of Hanapepe, daughters Angie (Burt) Rapanot of Kekaha, Virginia (Joel) Maimon of Ewa Beach, O‘ahu, Donna Padilla of Kane‘ohe, O‘ahu, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, brother Gregorio Planas of Kaumakani, sister Josephine Stone of Honolulu, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19, services will be held at a later date.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
