LIHU‘E — Sing Out Kaua‘i, a choral group formed during the pandemic, is offering three opportunities to enjoy its mini holiday concert from the comforts of home or in-person.
On Saturday, Dec. 19, the group’s 20 holiday singers will perform at 6 p.m. via Facebook Live.
Later that evening at 7:30 p.m. in Kukui Grove Center’s food court, and Sunday, Dec. 20, at 1:30 p.m. also in the KGC food court.
Featured songs are “Swingin’ Saint Nick,” “Somewhere in My Memory” from the movie “Home Alone,” “Po La‘i E” (“Silent Night” in Hawaiian), “Mele Kalikimaka,” which means “Merry Christmas” in Hawaiian, and Christmas carols.
All performers will be wearing masks and social distancing. Audience members are asked to do the same.
Each performance will be 20 minutes in length. Admission is free.
Sing Out Kaua‘i is led by well-known choral conductor Randy Leonard and pianist Monica Chung.
The group was formed in June 2020 to “keep the music alive,” Leonard said.
