1 new case of COVID-19 Sunday
LIHU‘E — The state Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported one new case of COVID-19 on Sunday.
The case is an adult female visitor, and is travel-related. The individual had a negative pre-travel test result prior to Kaua‘i opting-out of the state’s Safe Travels program, but later tested positive.
Sunday’s case brings the number of on-island active cases to 11, with 140 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count includes 122 confirmed locally, one probable, and 17 positive cases diagnosed elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on-island.
All active cases are in isolation, and one case remains hospitalized. Close contacts are being identified, directed to quarantine and offered testing.
