Kudos and mahalo to Dan King and the Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort & Spa ‘ohana on the great GHK Give Thanks Drive Thru Shop - 2020 kine, where the hotel keeps the Thanksgiving tradition (even Miss Kaua‘i Filipina Tiffany Sagucio got a turkey to cook for Thanksgiving) of giving and sharing alive. This year, they also observed the COVID-19 health and safety rules of face masks, social-distancing and no large gatherings.

Tiffany was back on the road Friday when she played historian for the Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i Branch final Kokua No Ka ‘Ohana food distribution. Kate Veatch must’ve had warehouse duty because Lee Remigio, Wes Perreira, Chyenne Beach and Tish Ruiz (uh, oh, who’s watching the key, because Michelle Panoke was doing the Kaua‘i Housing Connect outreach with Melissa Ragasa?) were at Vidinha Stadium.
Foodbank Kaua‘i Branch advisory board members Charlie King, Diane Keeler (the Christmas trees are in at Walmart) and Dr. Addison Bulosan (sorry, Adams Bulosan, no nine-volt batteries in the car for the live entertainment) were out helping, and Tiffany was already getting ready for the virtual Lights on Rice (when is it?).
Kudos to the county’s homeless coordinator, Ashton Varner, on a great series of three Kaua‘i Housing Connect outreaches, where Nicole Cowan got her flu shot from the Wilcox Health team, and the state Department of Health’s Cynthia Chiang (she’ll be at today’s surge testing at Hanapepe Stadium, too) was shepherding the Kaua‘i District Health Office team, or were they shepherding Cynthia? Pua Kaohelauli‘i was doing duty at the Kokua No Ka ‘Ohana event when they pulled her clipboard and made her do distribution because they had too many clipboard people.
