Marcelia ‘Marcy’ Campos Mendonca
Marcelia “Marcy” Mendonca, of Makaweli, passed away in her home at the age of 81 on Nov. 9, 2020.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in education degree at University of Wisconsin — River Falls. A retired Head Start teacher, she was born on May 16, 1939, in the Philippines.
She was preceded in death by husband Nelson Mendonca and parents Francisco Sr. and Clarita Campos.
She is survived by siblings Rudy (Cathy) Campos of California, Fely (Daryll) DeMent of Kaua‘i and Francisco Campos Jr. of Kaua‘i, children Stacy (Manuel Jr.) Manzo of Kaua‘i, David Tayco of California, Sean (Colleen Ford) Tayco of California, Dana (Sandee) Tayco of California, Patrick (Venus) Tayco of California, Debbie (Robert) Hollyer of Washington and Rhonda (Eric) Wilmurt of California, grandchildren Wesley (Ligaya) Keen, Lauren (Robert Lee Parish III) Keen, Howie Manzo, Reyna Manzo, Megan Tayco, Denis Tayco, Aryka (Jeremy) Martini, Sean (Tristen) Tayco, Brandon Tayco, Saijeah Kashiwabara, Austin Ford, Colten Ford, Dana Tayco Jr., Danielle (Miguel) Arreola, Madison Tayco, Kelsey Tayco, Logan Tayco, Palani Mendonca, Savannah Mendonca, Atiya Hollyer, Gavin Hollyer, Jordan Box, Kira Wilmut and Adison Wilmurt, great-grandchildren Thalia Yim, Westyn Keen, Amillia Keen, Hunter Keen, Case Martini, Manhanttan Martini, Abram Martini, Kingston Tayco, Story Tayco, Aaliyah Tayco and Kalani Tayco.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, Nov. 20, at the Garden Island Mortuary chapel in Lawa‘i. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m.
Services on Saturday, Nov. 21, will start at 9:30 a.m. at St. Theresa Church in Kekaha, and burial will follow at the Kaua‘i Veteran Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Jeriann Perez Galiza
Jeriann Perez Galiza, 25, of Lihu‘e, passed away at Wilcox Medical Center on Nov. 4, 2020. She was born in Manila, Philippines, on Sept. 23, 1995, and was a graduate of Kaua‘i High School in the Class of 2013.
She was preceded in death by paternal grandfather Pedro Galiza Sr., maternal grandparents Jimmy and Primitiva Perez and aunty Cynthia Gali.
She is survived by parents Jel “Lito” Galiza and Rica Perez, sister Tracy Ann (Tyler) Clasen of Japan, nephew Oliver Clasen, paternal grandmother Rosita Galiza, and numerous uncles, aunties and cousins.
A celebration of life is Monday, Nov. 23, at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, with visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. A private prayer service and burial will be held for family members only at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Yoshie Doi Smith
Yoshie Doi Smith of Kekaha was born in Waimea on Aug. 29, 1921. She passed away on Oct. 29, 2020, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waimea. She was a nanny, seamstress and homemaker, and a member of Waimea High School’s Class of 1939.
She was preceded in death by husband Ambrose Smith, son Ray Smith, grandaughter Maude Nalani Shigematsu, parents Kazunobu and Hatsuyo Doi, and brothers Allan Nobuharu Doi and Tony Tsunenobu Doi.
She is survived by sons Danny David (Carol) Smith of Kekaha, Allan Ambrose (Linda) Smith of Lihu‘e, daughter Linda Naomi (Ron) Gut of Wasau, Wisconsin, 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, brother Omar Nobuso (May) Doi of Richmond, California, sisters Mutsue (Shigemi, deceased) Nakamura of Manoa, O‘ahu and Nobue (Richard, deceased) Tanaka of Hawai‘i Kai, O‘ahu, sister-in-law Nancy Doi of Mililani, O‘ahu, and daughter-in-law Carolyn Smith of ‘Aina Haina, O‘ahu.
Inurnment will be held at a later date.
The family requests no koden (monetary offerings).

Margaret Florendo
Margaret Florendo passed away on Oct. 31, 2020, at the age of 83, at Kau‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waimea,.
She was born on May 12, 1937, in Waimea.
She was preceded in death by son Ken J. Florendo, parents Premetvo and Felamina Ortiz, and sisters Lucy Ortiz and Bella Ortiz.
She is survived by husband Casamero Florendo Sr., sons Casamero (Patricia) Florendo Jr. of Kekaha, Preston Florendo of Kapa‘a, Hamilton Florendo of Kalaheo and Kirk Florendo of Kekaha, daughters Corina Florendo of Honolulu and Natasha Florendo of Kekaha, grandchildren Madelle, Shalayah and Liam, great-grandchild Mikiala, and by numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Due to COVID-19, a service will be scheduled for a later date.

Eduardo Jimenez Lagundino
Eduardo Jimenez Lagundino of Waimea passed away at the age of 71 on Nov. 5, 2020.
He was born on May 17, 1949, in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. He was a retired field hand with Kekaha Sugar Company and Gay & Robinson.
He was preceded in death by parents Santos and Benita Lagundino and brother Holofernes Lagundino.
He is survived by wife Mariana Lagundino of Waimea, brother Ferdinand (Antonia) Lagundino Sr. of ‘Ele‘ele, sister-in-law Orafil Lagundino of Las Vegas, son Ediemar (Cristy) Lagundino of Waimea, daughters Edna (Sky) Lagundino of Hanapepe, Emmaline (Joeben) Lagundino of Koloa and Emarina Lagundino of Waimea, grandchildren Siera (Ethan) Alaibilla-Lagundino of Hanapepe, Racyn (Mai) Ruiz of Waimea, Tiara (Josh) Ruiz of Waimea, Jaedin Lagundino of Lawa‘i, Jonas Villanueva of Koloa, Erik Lagundino of Lawa‘i and Kyara Ruiz of Waimea, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of life is Friday, Dec. 4, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friends and extended family may visit from 11 a.m. to noon at the Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary in Koloa. Burial will follow at Kekaha Public Cemetery.
Due to COVID19 restrictions, limited seating will be available, and social distancing and face masks are required.
Zenaida ‘Zee’ Resinto Dizol
Zenzida “Zee” Resinto Dizol passed away at Wilcox Medical Hospital on Oct. 16, 2020, at the age of 54.
She was born on June 27, 1966, and was a business owner and worked in the hospitality industry.
She was preceded in death by father Conrado Resinto.
She is survived by mom Ofelia Resinto, husband James Dizol, sons Adam (Reya Fernandez) Dizol, grandsons Oz Dizol and Nakoah Dizol, sisters Josie (Paul) Resinto Wingler, Lolita and Boyet Galo, Maria and Christopher Anderson, Reza and Rodel Minia, Carol and Greg Efhan and Mary Resinto, brothers Eddie and Shan Texeira Resinto, Paris Resinto, Kevin and Kris Resinto and Kekua Resinto.
A celebration of life is Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary in Koloa, with visitation at 10:30 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. Social distancing and masks are required.

Giuliana Elizabeth Tangelder, 50, of Kapa‘a, passed away at home on Nov. 5, 2020. She was born in Bellflower, California, on June 25, 1970, and was an artist and craftswoman.
She is survived by daughters Marina (Ryan Coggins) Tangelder, Athena (Ashton Scott) Tangelder and Serena (Eli Leech) Tangelder, parents Hans Robert and Clara Tangelder, stepmom Susan O’Neill, brother Robert Anthony (Erin Land) Tangelder, nephew Tyler Tangelder, niece Paris Tangelder, and numerous extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
