LIHU‘E — The Bridge: Kaua‘i to College, a charitable organization that coordinates mentorship for high-school students to help them choose appropriate colleges by helping each student with the application process, is hosting an Instagram College Prep Giveaway contest ending at midnight tonight, Oct. 31.
LIHU‘E — The Bridge: Kaua‘i to College, a charitable organization that coordinates mentorship for high-school students to help them choose appropriate colleges by helping each student with the application process, is hosting an Instagram College Prep Giveaway contest ending at midnight tonight, Oct. 31.
Winners will be announced by Nov. 1 through a lottery of followers who have shared their posts.
“We are a nonprofit organization that matches volunteer adult mentors with local high-school students to help choose appropriate colleges, complete successful applications, plan finances and prepare for college,” said TBKC Treasurer Tisa Herold. “In addition to free one-on-one mentoring, we provide funding for SAT-preparation classes, critically-needed technology, and scholarships for summer-enrichment programs such as to Africa, Asia, Europe and South America.”
The grand prize includes an online SAT Prep Course valued at $500, and a $20 Starbucks card.
The second-place prize includes a professional college-consultation session valued at $200 and a choice of general college consultation with Dr. Susan Davis or financial consultation with Dr. Debra Ching, with a $15 Starbucks card.
The third-place prize includes a one-year Amazon Prime subscription, which is valued at $119, and a $15 Starbucks card.
Those who enter will also have the opportunity to win one of five copies of “How to Win at College” by Cal Newport.
