Kudos to Sandi Kato-Klutke (Laurie Yoshida and Stephanie Iona couldn’t make it, but were in Kekaha last Saturday), Stacie Chiba-Miguel (she could even make her Zoom meeting after unloading all those pumpkins from Esaki’s Produce. Gotta come check out that fall display, Earl Kashiwagi), Pillare Mukai and all the bodies who worked to get The Great Pumpkin Giveaway going (the kiddles at the Lihu‘e Hongwanji Preschool are totally thrilled with their Halloween score, Sandi, and the Corteva Agriscience white beauty, Laurie).

Kelvin Moniz of the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank dropped by the farmers’ market at The Shops at Kukui‘ula to shop for produce for the food distribution that takes place next Thursday from 3 p.m. at The Shops at Kukui‘ula parking lot, and who’s doing the pumpkin contest next Wednesday when voting (er, judging) takes place at the farmers’ market at The Shops at Kukui‘ula.
For those who missed the event, we have one more Saturday at the Puhi Park Produce (Isobel Storch of Lanipo Farms said her granddaughter Florence Toyofuku is planning on this one), where the pumpkins start moving from 9:30 a.m. Gotta wake up early, Florence!
Kudos to Seth Womble on getting the NirManaFest 2020 going. Melinda Morey and crew were thrilled with their wall because it was protected from all that inclement weather (happy birthday, Kaplan Bunce, who spent his evening working under the lights to get some of those designs put on the wall), and it was a pleasure to see Shastin Grace after not being at the Taste of Hawai‘i, and Holly Ka‘iakapu (her mom had the fancy Seth Womble face mask during a drop-off for the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program last month) enjoyed working the afternoon in the shade of that apartment building located next to WB’s Grill. This should all be wrapping up today.
