HONOLULU — The 15th annual Hawai‘i Book & Music Festival, in a new partnership with the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa, goes virtual this year.
Presented under the theme “Shaping Our Future – Hawai‘i 2.0,” the festival will offer 55 Zoom programs in six tracks spread over the month of October and into early November. As always, the nonprofit festival is a free-admission event.
After 14 years at the downtown Honolulu Civic Center, the festival was to relocate to UH-Manoa’s campus in 2020. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, HBMF, like so many other events and traditions, had to turn to an online format this year.
The live Zoom sessions started on Oct. 1 and will continue through Wednesday, Nov. 4, with a Halloween evening of ghost stories and other wild tales.
