LIHU‘E — Those curious about electric vehicles or experienced drivers can tap into free EVents, where expert advice and everyday EV owner experiences will be shared by and for Hawai‘i residents.
Kaua‘i EV and Hawai‘i Electric Vehicle Association will host two webinars and a socially distanced EV caravan on Kaua‘i to celebrate National Drive Electric Week, from this Saturday, Sept. 26 to Sunday, Oct. 4.
These EVents will “get people charged up about the advantages of electric vehicles and encourage the adoption of clean transportation in Hawai‘i,” Noel Morin, president of Hawai‘i EV, said in a press release.
The Saturday, Sept. 26 webinar is from 9 to 11 a.m., “EV 101 – Buying & Owning EVs,” and will feature a virtual audience question-and-answer session, and cover the following topics:
• EV models, buying tips, and charging;
• EV buyer incentives and low ownership costs;
• EV owner’s panel: sharing experiences with electric vehicles.
On Sunday, Sept. 27, from 2 to 4 p.m., an EV caravan will take place, followed by a talk story session at the Kealia overlook at 4 p.m.
The caravan starts at the Hokulei Village Shopping Center Safeway EV chargers at 2 p.m., with drives to chargers in Lihu‘e and Kapa‘a with stops for charger demonstrations.
Face masks and social distancing are required at all times outside of vehicles.
