Where did the summer go to?
Where did the summer go to?
Fall arrived, officially and technically, at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, and the weather is definitely the autum kine you like for movies. Kudos to Juno Apalla and Nannie Ann Apalla on getting the Kaua‘i Family Movie Night off the ground. Don’t know if tickets are still available for the Kekaha drive-in movie (check the social media pages!) that’s coming up Saturday, when the gates open at 6 p.m. at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center. Is Robbie Melton driving all the way out there?
Actually, it would be interesting to see who gets the meal-vendor designation. Hmmm, maybe it’ll be drive-thru potluck.
If you haven’t gotten your tickets to the Steven Doi fundraiser for Kalani Telles and his ‘ohana, there is a lot of activity (Colby Ayonon threw in a Mitsubishi air-conditioning unit as another prize) on Steven’s Facebook pages (and who’s doing the flying saucers as a fundraiser for Kalani? Oh, the deliveries are today and Thursday?), but there is still time before he starts posting the recipients some time, Saturday. Did you have to order more tickets yet Steven?
It’s all right, got time to check out RoseAnne Jones (kudos on a great Center for Spiritual Living virtual telethon Saturday) and the Kaua‘i Society of Artists at ART Kaua‘i that opens this weekend at Kukui Grove Center. Nope, no opening reception due to COVID-19 rules, just great art, and with a little bit of luck, meet some great artists (who get to gallery-sit).
