Maybe Love Has Won after all
As a former Molokai resident I was shocked at the lack of Aloha displayed by Kauai to a group of visitors seeking only rest and recovery from medical problems, at least according to your article.
That Kauai police and local officials caved in so readily to rowdy and property-destroying protesters is beyond disappointing to me and clouds the happy memories I have of your island.

What a day
During this time of uncertainty that greatly affects us all, it was a small moment of pure joy to be at Ke’e Beach early on Labor Day and experience not only the beauty and uniqueness of our island gem; but also to see families showing up with food, chairs and aloha to spend the day relaxing and having good fun.
Yes, we do need the tourists to provide necessary jobs for the community but it was just simply heartwarming to see our local families enjoying a treasured spot that had plenty of room for all of us. What a day!

Trump a national disgrace
One thing about the Trump presidency is certain – that the president’s malfeasance worsens every day. Mr. Trump is unable to learn or improve because he’s an imbecile with obviously diminished capacity. So there’s no reason to expect that things will ever get better. The fact is that the United States (and the rest of the world) are victims of Mr. Trump’s lifetime of deliberate and prideful ignorance and incompetence. Almost everything he touches fails (Trump University, Trump Mortgage, Trump Casinos, Trump Steaks, Trump Vodka, Trump Water, Trump Airlines – the list of his failures goes on and on) so why should the United States government be any different?
Today, audio recordings have been released of Mr. Trump admitting that he deliberately lied to the nation about the lethality of COVID-19. Despite that, he continues to assemble large, mask-less rallies to satisfy his craven need for adoration. He’s a malignant narcissist, and people – like Herman Cain, for instance – have died in the service of worshiping Trump. Nothing is below Trump. Absolutely nothing.
Of course, none of this matters to his adoring fans, including our local Republican Party leadership and the flag waving caravan. There is no corruption too flamboyant; no number of golf games at the public expense while Americans are dying by the thousands too callous; and no number of needless deaths caused by Trump’s deliberate lying will stop them from adoring our spectacularly unfit, failed president. When the history is written about the Trump presidency, the real scandal will be that a single American voted for him. It’s a national disgrace.
