HANAPEPE — The county Department of Water announced a four-hour water-service shutdown on Hanapepe Road, Koula Road and Kona Road in Hanapepe Wednesday, Sept. 2, beginning at 2 p.m., weather-permitting.
DOW crews will be conducting mainline improvements and installing replacement valves.
An intermittent, one-lane road closure will happen at the intersection of Kona Road and Koula Road. Motorists are asked to adhere to traffic control in place and use alternative routes when possible.
Customers are advised to prepare for the water-service shutdown by taking the following steps:
• Store enough water to meet your needs;
• Notify family, neighbors, friends of the scheduled water service shutdown;
• Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heaters do not empty;
• Businesses should make necessary arrangements prior to and during the service shutdown.
A trailer-mounted water tank containing potable water will be staged at the intersection of Kona Road and Koula Road. Customers should bring their own containers to fill up if needed.
Door-to-door notices were delivered to customers located in the affected service area.
