Why is this news? Who cares? 99.6% survival rate. American population = Sheep.
Jake
Wake up! It is news because it overwhelms the hospitals to KEEP people alive.
Makani, with all due respect.. You are further proving Jakes comment…”wake up”! Clearly you just believe what you are told. hence the sheep comment.
Ahahahaha! I work in the hospital. You have no clue of what you speak of!!!
You have been challenged in the past to provide citations for the 99.6% survival rate claim. Where is this data?
The stats I see right now are 1 in 20 die. That’s about 1% better than it was a month or two ago, But still, look at your friends and family and decide which 5% you no longer want to see on this earth.
https://ourworldindata.org/mortality-risk-covid
I’d like to see where you’re getting the information on a 1 in 20 death rate.
In the US as of today there are 6 million positive cases and 183,000 Deaths. Divide the deaths by cases you get 0.0305% subtract that from 100% equals your current percentage of survival 99.9695% If it were 1 in 20 our death rate would be around 300,000 based off of 6 million cases.
On top of the the cdc just released new information saying that only 6% of those deaths we have were due to covid 19. “ on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death”
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm#Comorbidities
Active cases are not completed cases. You can’t count everyone now who is infected and will die later as not a death. So eliminating current cases, looking at only recovered or dead – you get 6% death rate. Look at your own numbers with that in mind and get back to us.
It is good news that Kauai has done so well. it’s sad, but not news, that there are still people who believe that it’s not a serious disease, given what it has done across the country. Believe what you like as long as you wear a mask and keep your distance.
