LIHU‘E — This work is abstract, said muralist Seth Womble last week about the art beginning to adorn the eastern wall of the Pi‘ikoi Building of the Lihu‘e Civic Center.
“This is going to be part of the Nirmana series,” Womble said.
“Twelve murals in the Lihu‘e area (are) all happening in the near future. This one is in line with the neighboring Kaua‘i Museum and will talk about the cultural people.”
Work started Monday with muralist Sam Schryver, and is expected to take until Aug. 28 to complete.
The county advises that parking spots along the exterior Pi‘ikoi Building wall facing Eiwa Street will not be available from now to Aug. 28 because of the space the artistic team requires to finish the mural.

They need to let Wyland do a Mural on the side of Safeway facing Chiefess. It’s such a perfect setting for a nice big painting.
Has there been any parking since Big Save left and the county of Kauai took over that lot?
I don’t think so.
They have 15 crosswalks, trees, bushes, and paint for a bike path/lane and that’s what $10,000,000 of a Tiger grant get you.
