The Celebrating Women of Leadership &Courage exhibit is available for viewing from noon to 4 p.m., through Sunday at the Kaua‘i Society of Artists gallery at the Kukui Grove Center. Beyond what is on the walls, RoseAnne Jones and her crew have done an amazing job of getting the information out to those who cannot view the exhibit.

Artist Carol Meckling is working with Penny Nichols (was that piece a submission to the big Maui show?) to get the information out to the approximately 100 students she has at Island School that can’t do a field trip for the historical presentation because school just started.
Additionally, KSA board member and graphic designer Susanne Long designed a portrait (photos by Elliot Lucas of Kaua‘i Film Academy located next door to the KSA gallery) arrangement of women involved with the exhibit surrounding a QR (it stands for Quick Response!) code that, when scanned, takes the viewer too a You Tube site where the individual women are presenting vignettes of the women they represent…talk about high tech, and yet, it is not a substitute from seeing the real thing.
And on the subject of women, kudos to Kellie Hines, the head golf professional at Hokuala Ocean Course (Daeja Tomas works there, too), and YWCA of Kaua‘i executive director Renae Hamilton-Cambeilh (she’s involved with the Courageous Women exhibit, too) on getting the 13th Annual Never Forget Sandy G golf tournament — it’s the first golf tournament since the novel coronavirus came to Hawai‘i — off and rolling in compliance with all kinds of health and safety rules!
